Blind Lemon Pledge With their newest release, “Oh So Good”, still in the Top Ten on the Roots Music Report’s Acoustic Blues Album Chart after six months, Blind Lemon Pledge has garnered a solid critical and popular reputation for their unique blend of Blues and Americana classics along with their award-winning original compositions. Although, at full strength, the band is a quintet, Blind Lemon Pledge was designed, from the beginning, as a band that could entertain audiences in any configuration: quintet, quartet, trio, duo or as a solo act for band leader James Byfield (aka Blind Lemon Pledge). James recently delivered a well-received set as a solo act at the San Francisco Free Folk Festival.
For their 5th appearance in the El Cerrito Free Folk Festival, BLP is appearing as a duet with Blind Lemon Pledge on guitar and vocals and Sioux City Slim (aka Winston Andrews) on harmonica. They will be bringing their unique repertoire and sound to help round out the Festival’s roster of fun and exciting Bay Area roots music performers.
