Morris is a traditional English dance form going back hundreds of years and performed as a team in the springtime, including sunrise on May 1st. Be prepared for waving hankies, clashing sticks, and an opportunity to join in for some audience participation!
Berkeley Morris has been teaching and performing Morris dance in the Bay Area and beyond since 1977. They meet in Berkeley every Tuesday. Their team is a mixture of men and women and has traditional acoustic instruments to accompany the dance.
There will be eight dancers and two musicians at the Festival.
