Hi, I’m Melody (my real name is Mary Lane Cryns), and I’ve been playing ukulele since 2010. I’ve led many ukulele jams on Zoom and in person over the years. My friend Diane and I led the Bronco Billy’s Ukulele Jam in Fremont for many years — even after I moved to Oregon — until the pandemic. I love different types of songs. However, my favorites are the Beatles and the songs of the 1960s and 1970s. I will provide a song packet with various songs, mainly from that era, starting with the easiest ones, as we also taught a beginner ukulele workshop at our monthly jams for several years. Also, I will put in some Halloween songs because it’s so close to Halloween.
I fell in love with the ukulele world in 2010 when I discovered many groups of people playing music together. That’s what it’s all about- sharing music and playing together no matter your level. I’ve attached some photos of me playing ukulele at various jams. I’ve also been associated with the San Francisco Ukulele Rebellion since 2011 and have led the Angel Island jam in the past. We restarted that in 2023.
